Quiver - take better notes App Reviews

Highly Recommend

I have used the demo version of the app for more than a month now and have loved it. I use it as a way to shared notes and code snippets with my team and love the ability to export to HTML or PDF. I’ve also loved using it as a way to store and review new concepts that I’m leading. I could have continued using it for free but I wanted to support the creators of a really solid product. Nice work!

Love Love Love!

Dear Dev, Please dont stop nurturing this masterpiece! This is awesome! There are a few UI bugs, but youve got a seriously winning product on your hands! Would love to see things like: - additional integrations - snippet expansion capabilities - an iOS companion! But, heck, this is awesome. I was so glad to dump Evernote (which I had been using purely for dev documentation and bits from Stack Overflow, etc.) for this. Youve have our undivided attention!

This is it.

All I’ve ever asked. Please let me intermix code and text. Please, thats all i really want for my note taking sidekick. Wow. All this for 10 dollars? This is a 5 star app at 49 dollars.

Serious syncing issues between two Macs

The app is great in every respect. Except iCloud syncing. That is a huge problem for me, which caused me to abandon to use this app - unfortunately. I really love all the features. Presentation mode, various syntax hiliting, various text cells, etc, I mean, it’s just realy good. Unfortunately syncing is something that just simply doesn’t work. At the moment about 40% of my notes are not syncing up. I usually type my notes on my desktop Mac. In the past 4 months or so, I barely turned on my MacBook. At one case, I didn’t use my MacBook for about two weeks because I was only working on my desktop mac. Then, when I am trying sync up, nothing happens. I switch Wi-Fi on and off, restart the app, reboot the two machines, etc. Nothing. The two machines are SIMPLY NOT SYNCING USING iCLOUD!!! The worst part, this is a CONSTANT issue. I realize this migh be an actual issue with iCloud itself (since nowadays anything that Apple does is full of bugs), but this also makes using the app frustrating. I have other apps that sync via iCloud and they don’t seem to have any issue. So I am not sure why Quiver has a hard time with syncing. My desktop Mac is running El Crapitan 10.11.3 and my MacBook is running Yosemite 10.10.5. Sometimes (errr…quite often) Apple messes things up and I thought maybe the OS version differences causes this issue. But other apps I am using are syncing just fine, so this must be a different issue. If you use the app only on a single machine and/or you are not using iCloud for syncing the app is great. Since I use iCloud for all of my syncing, I don’t want to resort to install yet another syncing mechanism (eg, DropBox). I hope this syncing will be sorted out at some point.

Everything I was looking for!

After searching for many journaling apps and trying some good ones that only touched on some aspects of what I was looking for, I thought that I would have to write my own to get all the features that I wanted. And then I found Quiver. Quiver has been awesome and I love the organization, tags and notebooks, and all the features of how to enter in my writing, be it Markdown, code snippets and yes I even use the Latex part, plus I couldn’t believe how many journal apps wouldn’t let you embed images that Quiver handles too! Thanks for the awesome tool.

My favorite "notebook"

Quiver has become hands down my favorite "notebook" for keeping all sorts of non-confidential notes on my Mac. Can we please get an iPad version? Please? :-) One that syncs with WebDAV? Whether youre a developer or not you owe it to yourself to get this app. Hands down so much better than Evernote.
